Tom Chikoore
Tom Chikoore is a software engineering leader with extensive experience in the architecture, design and development of major enterprise software systems. Tom co-founded Filtrbox, a startup working on media content filtering. Prior to Filtrbox, Tom was a principal software engineer and software architect at Oracle. In this position, he was responsible for the data access middleware, proprietary communications protocols and enterprise transaction server kernels for the company�s EnterpriseOne foundation software. Before his time at Oracle, Tom worked as a software engineer/architect at J.D. Edwards, where he was instrumental in designing and developing groundbreaking, platform-agnostic JDB middleware and numerous other enterprise software components.
Tom is an expert in architecting data access frameworks, and over the past few years, has broadened his area of expertise to include Web 2.0 technologies.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Prairie View A&M University and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. When Tom is not designing and coding for fun, you can find him on the hiking trails of Colorado. Tom also has a passion for giving back to the community and is actively involved on several volunteer boards, including the PVAMU Industry Advisory Board.
