About

This is the Colorado Startups blog. It’s run and edited by David Cohen - a serial entrepreneur, investor, and technologist living in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. David also runs TechStars, which provides seed funding, mentoring, advice, and connections to ten new companies in Boulder, Colorado each summer.

Gwen Bell, Ronald Lewis, and Tom Chikoore are regular contributors to the blog as well. Together, we agreed to of a bunch of promises we wanted to keep to ensure the integrity of this blog as it grows.

David Cohen owns Colorado Startups, LLC, which invests in Colorado-based early stage startups. You can view the portfolio here. In the rare case that the blog covers a portfolio company, we always note that.

In general, in order to be covered by the ColoradoStartups blog, a company must have these attributes:

  • Generally interesting
  • Principally located in Colorado
  • Playing in the software or web application space.
  • Attempting to reach a national or worldwide audience.
  • Founded, restructured, or financed in the last 2 or 3 years.

We’ve been asked “why are you running the blog at ColoradoStartups.com” many times now. There are a couple of reasons. In short - it’s because we’re personally interested in tech startups, know many other people who are too, love Colorado, and think this is a fantastic place to do a startup.
